New Routes, New Vehicles to
Improve Transportation Options

About Our Program

The City of West Palm Beach is launching a new citywide transit pilot program, rideWPB, that will be free to all riders.
The program will introduce new routes, new vehicles, and an expansion to improve mobility equity for all residents of West
Palm Beach.
Accessible vehicles are available for fixed-route services.

FIXED ROUTE EXPANSION

The City held four community engagement meetings, in January, to gather feedback from the community, related to a north/south expansion of the fixed route system. People who were unable to attend were able to submit feedback through the website.

The goal was to insure a system that reflects the community’s desires that also manages the effects of a growing population, like parking pressure, congestion and carbon emissions. The service is targeted to improve the mobility of residents, supporting workforce and customers.

The pilot program will include the following changes:

The Yellow and Green trolley routes will be combined to create a new, more efficient route.

The Blue route will be converted to an on-demand service, giving passengers greater flexibility to travel on their own schedule.

New, electric-powered vehicles, including Teslas and Carts, will be used to operate on-demand services.

The pilot program will expand on-demand services that currently exist in downtown and to and from the Town of Palm Beach to additional neighborhoods, including the Historic Northwest, Northwood, Pleasant City, South Dixie Hwy, and the Jefferson Terminal District. In 2024 the City will evaluate adding additional neighborhoods as part of phase 2.
